Question Power Leech, Lyssa's Aura, or Energy Drain on Hero Monks?

With the new AI I would think Lyssa's Aura could be a very nice energy mgt skill. Then again, maybe it's too conditional, particularly if your team is running lots of interrupts.

Power Leech looks nice cause it kills 2 birds with one stone--interruption and lots of energy back. But again, if your team interrupts all the enemy casters' spells it won't be worth much.

Or is the old Energy Drain + Power Drain combo the best method for managing Monk Hero energy?

Do monks even make good interruptors now or do they kite too much?

Edit: Also, anyone try running Spirit of Failure on a Hero Monk?

I haven't been successful in getting my Monks to use interrupts like Power Drain. They usually just spam their heal skills till there's no energy and run around.

Mantra of Recall seems the best so far. They won't even use sig of devotion for some odd reason.

It depend on your opponent.

If there are practically no caster on enemy team, energy drain is the best.

Usually your opponent team will have at least one monk, and if you use power leech, the monk hero can get it in just fine. However, if the monk was a player, power leech's ability lose a grade.

Aura of Lyssa is something I haven't test, I think it is just WAY too conditional. Not like monk NPC can predict the future. It also does not last long enough to matter.

my monk rarly uses mantra of recall. I switched it to offering of blood and hes been running fine sense. It is odd how heros wont use spam builds properly and wont use monk signets at all.

In another thread someone mentioned running 2 monks with Blood Ritual. Wonder how BiP would work? Probably too much sacrifice.

Leech Signet is also something to consider, especially if you don't want to spare any attribute points and have a spare slot open on one of your heroes.

Use monks on passive until you need to get them some energy, then switch them to aggressive and bam you'll get your mana, assuming there are casters anyways

Ah, I think that also explains why my Monk was refusing to use Energy Drain... the AI considers this as an "aggressive" e-denial skill.

We may be defining our terms differently, but I find my Monk/Necro/Ele heroes using power drain/leech sig quite often when in "Guard" mode.

Yeah, my monks use interupt in gaurd. Im not sure what the difference is between aggressive and gaurd. Seems that they are more likely to stay near you and attack your target i guess.

From my experiences and talking with friends/guildies, it seems that when in "fight" mode, don't be surprised if a hero will extend beyond your aggro range. (Leeroy behaviour, etc.) When in "guard" mode, they tend to stay within your aggro bubble.

I've had that exact experience with Jin in the Consulate Docks mission (If that's the right name). I looked at my radar as was like WTH are those green dots moving into the big red mob? Jin and her Flamingo decided to Leeroy on me.

I put Power Drain and Leech Signet of my Healing Light Tahlkora. Hero monks always blow their energy but since I put interupts and a energy managing heal, her inhuman reflexes has saved the day

Bottom Line: Interupts of heros = sick evil

Power Drain and Leech Sig here as well. Works very well, and with the Sig they are able to use it even if they drain all of their energy.

I find that heroes are always keen to use glyphs and with the new buff of Glyph of Lesser Energy it helps them quite a bit. I use it on my RC prot hero who uses the glyph prior to Aegis and Extinguish and the rest are just cheap 5 energy spells.
